Mission

The Physical Education General Studies Activity Program is an essential component of a liberal arts education. The program is designed to provide students with opportunities for participation in a Wellness course or participation in quality movement and fitness experiences through a variety of activities including aquatics, dance, fitness, outdoor challenge and recreational activities, and traditional sports.

Participation in regular physical activity is critical for the development and maintenance of good health, and to foster an understanding of the importance of and consequences and making healthy lifestyle choices. The goal of the Physical Education Activity Program as stated by the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) is "to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity."

Physical Education Activities: Weight Training, Jogging, Rock Climbing, Pickleball, Tenis, Badminton, Gymnastics, Softball, Volleyball, Aerobics, Swing and Latin Ballroom Dancing.
