SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Diane Hottendorf is and has been responsible for developing, implementing and teaching the Gallaudet University Dance Minor since 1983. Dr. Hottendor is and has been the Director of the Gallaudet Dance Company since 1981.

As Director of the Gallaudet Dance Company, she plans the logistics for Company performances, dance exchange programs, compiles materials for Public Relations, oversees the Dance Company Budget and has brought in numerous grants and funding for the troupe. Under Dr. Hottendorf's direction the company has performed throughout the United States as well as in the following foreign countries France, Canada, Peru, Costa Rica, Barbados, Guatemala, the Bahamas, Brazil, Egypt and St. Lucia.

Dr. Hottendorf has directed the performance of the Gallaudet Dance Company twice at the White House, three times at the Kennedy Center, and at the 1984 Inauguration of President Reagan. As Director of the Gallaudet Dance Company she has facilitated the production of the film "Celebration of Deaf Dance" produced to commemorate 40 years of the Gallaudet Dance Company. The film received three Emmy Awards in the Best Documentary 1994 Capital Region Competition; the film also received a TELLY Award and a GOLD CINDY Award by the Association of Visual Communications.

Dr. Hottendorf is excited about the 2008 Spring Dance Concert that is entitled "Imagine Peace" and all the new dance company members.
